Hi Rich,
can you be more specific on what the problem is?
Are you going to do some of the work?
Have you run this by a local repairshop yet?
Take care, Eggert :bananasmi

Hi,thanks for the reply. The reason i am asking is i was was thinking of buying a 95 yukon which the owner says their is noise comming from the bottom end and his mechanic said it will need either a engine rebuild or replacement soon.He says its the bearings.I havent seen the truck in person yet only pictures it looks real clean with only 94k on the clock(which is weird that the engine is bad already i heard the 95's go to 200k with ease)I have called a few places and usually they want around $2,400 for a rebuild which is a bit high if you ask me.since you can probaly get a rebuild kit for around 400 bucks.I guess the labor is the killer.thanks

Hi Rich, please keep in mind that I had a 95 Suburban with the older generation engine that had a redline of 4,000RPM. It was pretty lame.
The newer generation engines from 96 to 99 have a redline of 5,000RPM and are quite a bit stronger.

Yeah, thanks Eggert,i think i will forget the 95 and go for a 96 + with the Vortech engine even though i have heard they have many problems and some owners horror stories from tranny's, fuel pumps.altenators, intake gaskets, electric problems.etc!Maybe i will get lucky!
