97 Ranger lighting problem

97 Ranger, I have multiple symptoms; with the headlights off they flash in conjunction with a clicking sound under the dash above the clutch pedal. Also, "door ajar" light stays on and interior light stays on until door ajar light goes out. I have tried to pinpoint the noise under the dash to no avail. There are about 15 relays inder there.

Wish I could help, but I have the same kind of problem ...not quite to the same extent as yours, but definitely the same. My dome light stays on all the time or come on for no reason in the middle of the night (no door ajar light, though) and that soft ding noise from under the dash every so often. I finally just pulled the dome fuse (had to, kept running my battery down when it would switch on overnight). Never did figure it out.

check the light switch on the door, it may be out of adjustment, if the door is dented where it is it will do it too, just back the nut off a couple of turns and see where it gets ya, my blazer did that for a while and this fixed the problem
