1st Question- I bought my Camaro with a dented hood where it looks like it possibly hit a truck w/trailerhitch. I am trying to find a aftermarket 2" fiberglass cowl hood. The only places I have found them are Ebay and www.car-hoods.com, but they are like $400 on Ebay and car-hoods wants $589 (without shipping) :eek7:. Does this seem right? Do you guys have any stores that sell them cheaper, because for that much I will buy just a stock hood off a wrecked Camaro.

2nd Question- I do a little bit of racing (once a year at the track, twice a month on the streets) and was wondering which hood would be better a Ram Air or cowl. From what I understand the Ram Air is only good 120mph+, I only race to about 100. Would hoods matter in this situation?

3rd Question (and final question)- Fiberglass vs stock is there any weight diffrences? I would think there would be due to cutting out the steel. car-hoods.com list there 2" fiberglass cowl hood at 42lbs, what does the stock one weight?

Thanks in advance

www.car-parts.com for a stock hood, new hoods are expensive.... take mine for example... from shiping to price of hood to painting it.. it would end up costing around $1800.... www.rksport.com has some nice hoods also... the fibeglass hood is slightly less weight but not much of a difference if you ask me... btw you get what you pay for when it comes to fiberglass... if you buy a cheap hood that is what your going to get...

Nice car. I've also got a 94 3.4L. To be honest with you, it would probably be hard to find a wrecked Camaro without a dented hood. If there are any local salvage yards or performance shops, you could have them looking out for a hood that someone doesn't want. There are some really cool cowl hoods that go with the lines on the Camaro body, I think I saw pics of them on here yesterday or the day before.

if you think 500 dollars is high u shouldnt look into getting a new hood, just go for the junkyard hood....

if you want a stock hood ill sell you mines for real cheap, in two weeks im buying a ss hood and its gonna run me 435 plus 130 shipping, but anyways i dont plan on keeping my stock hood, its not dented or anything i just live in an apartment and keeping the stock one would be silly. 150 is what ill let it go for if your interested if so you can call me at 267 679 7739 and we can work out the details.
