can i pull the alternator from my 91 si from the top of the engine bay if i move the master cylinder out of the way? i dont want to have to pull the axle to drop it down, i live in the city and there's a foot of snow on the ground right now. any suggestions?

depends on what engine you have, usually the answer is if its dohc, no and if its sohc yes but with some wiggling.

u can take it out the pass side of the engine bay if u unbolt it and side it across under the intake mani it will come out where ur intake tubeing is and thats a lot easyer to take off the the master cylnder

i just replaced mine and i did what he said BUT i found it waay easyier to get out if you unbolt the throttle body and move it out of the way but keep the coolant hose connected of course.. this is for mpfi.. i dunno if its easy to take out of a dpfi tho

the dpfi is easy, just get it out between the coolant hoses and wires and its out, took me like 10 min to change mine today.
