yea so i was checkin out the 3000GT page and read a thread on how many miles you have on your car and what major problems you've had to fix.... thought it was a good idea to check up on my own car since its got pretty good amount of miles on it and i just had to replace the tranny. so im just wondering who got the highest miles on thier car

my 1990 s13 has bout 150,100 on it

i have 200,000kms on mine.. i think thats about 125,000 miles

i saw one for sale here in autotrader (a 91') that had 410,XXX, and the guy said it still ran, pretty crazy.

NO WAY....must be typo...mine has 138000...for 410000 U would pay like 500 at most

135k on my KA-T. Miles aren't that important as long as the engine itself is in good condition.

idk the only thing thats got a lil bit of a problem is that the rear is loose but its still in working condition and wont need to be fixed for a while

i got 172,478 on my auto hatch. Major prob would be blown a headgasket. Other probs were expected, like fuel injectors, plugs etc. Rear brakes went out. Thats about it. My family is original owner of this car too, used to be the family ride whahhahhahah yea a family of 4 in a damn 240, taking a road trip whahhaha.

My coupe has over 160,000 its not at my house right now so i cant check exact amount. I dont know of anything done to it.....but it runs good still so....

My bros hatch has over 160,000 also....he's at hockey practice so i cant see his exact amount either. So i guess i win??? so far???

the most iv heard of is one for sale i found with 210,000 miles i think.

I got 169,000, but the guy that lost the car to the shop I bought it from burnt up the con rod bearings.
tore up the con rod and piston too. drag racing a$$wipe gonna cost me $1600 for rebuild and install
(my dads payin for the install because I got him to help change the clutch to a ford escort !13itch! hung from 1 motor mount and my heavybag mount in my garage for a week
at least the clutch is new in mine

haha i lost oh well at least i know my car will last a little long than expected...

i could see how it would be comforting to know that someone else has more miles on their car than you, but like nissanfanatic said, its all about what shape the engine is in.. and its also important to take care of it

is the car really gonna only last 200000? I mean Hondas last like 300000 and if you change the Pistons and turbo it and change jsut about everything but the block...still gonna have like 180000 life expectancy at least right?

I agree with the comments earlier. As long as you're taking good care of your vehicle, it shouldn't matter if there are a lot of miles on it.

I got 119,000 on my s13 and I've only had to replace the timing chain and the shocks. The alternator too... but that's little. Other than that the car still runs nice and is still fun too send sideways even if it is stock...for now. :naughty:

All of these figures are with 87 octane so you can imagine even more could be had with 93 octane, especially since the KA was intended for 91 and I'm running 24 degrees BTDC static rather than the standard 20.
If you've been thinking of a 205 bhp SR20DET swap consider that for about $2000 in naturally aspirated bolt-ons for your KA you can make about 230 SAE net hp versus the $2500+ you'll spend for the SR20DET.

my bro jus bought one wit 182k on it...but blew the headgasket like 2 weeks later...it ran pretty strong for the time period tho...

also, ive done reseach and talked to a lot of people on a lot of different sites and everyone has told me that with good care and mainenance the can last well over 200k- 250k...but thats jus what im told

The speed limiter is removed by cutting the wire from the speedometer to the ECU. Check a service manual for the pinouts at the ECU.

All dynos, actually brake dynomometers measure brake horse power because the brake dyno uses a large brake to measure the torque the calculates brake horse power or brake kilowatts off that.

My car made 167 BHP measured at the rear wheels. Based on normal friction for a front engine/rear drive with independent suspension it was estimated the the SAE net BHP (measured at the gearbox output shaft, with all accessories running, AC included) would be 186. Our 155 SAE net BHP is at the output shaft with all accessories running. Such is the definition of SAE net BHP.

Wasn't that wire the 8th down on the left side of the ECU? A yellow with a green stripe? I did that one, but now in 5th gear, I get a fuel cut at 5000 rpm(approx 120mph).

Theres a guy on some of the KA-T forums running a SOHC KA-T at like 5psi with 273K.

And doesn't cutting the speedo wire make you lose the speedo? PUT A SWITCH it has been said before and I'm saying it again.

I cut that 8th wire and I still have a speedo. Now I have a rev limit of 5000rpm in 5th gear. Tested it today and if I put it in 5th gear and rev the engine, it cuts out at 5000rpm. If I ever get a job at Nissan, I'm gonna undermind the speed limiting of vehicles. Somehow, someway, its gonna disappear. Makes a lot of sense to limit a 155bhp stock car, but not limit vipers, corvettes and such.

I have 146k miles on my 1992 se Coupe with fresh clutch, new high performance tires, intake & custom exhaust, runs better then new with no oil buring, no leaks...

And has been said, its how the engine has been taken care of that matters the most...These cars/engines are damn near bullit proof!

287,000 on the SOHC KA that i took out of mt 89 240. was still running...

my 1990 has just rolled over to 175000 miles. only major problems ive had are power steering pump and alternator. i also had to put brakes, a cap and rotor, wires and spark plugs on it
