Heater core 96 Grand Am

Has anyone replaced the heater core in a 96 Grand am. I just purchased this car and there is no warrenty. It was very hot the day I bought it and only checked that the AC worked. Come to find out it has no heat. I am sure the they just looped the heater hoses.

They are a PITA to replace. I bought a repair manual from Autozone and followed the directions. It's been a while since I did it so I can't walk you through it.
