im considering buying a supra, but the guy who is selling it told me the bearing on the right side is getting a little weak. what exactly is the bearing, and is it expensive to fix? is it something i can fix myself? the car is a 90 supra, and mkiii's are hard to find so i really hope this isnt much of a problem and wont need to be fxed for a while. he told me at most it will creak a little when i turn.

It all depends on the situation, how bad is the bearing. Is it the front or the rear, also it will need to be replaced sometime soon. First I would pinpoint the exact problem, make sure it is the wheel bearing he's thinking of and not something else. Jack up the car and shake the wheel, if it moves (seperatly from the suspension obviously) then you have a problem. If it's been this way for a long time though, and has alot of play in it the spindle and hub could be ruined, and could end up costing you alot more money. It isn't too hard to fix though, but be prepared to spend a good amount of time on it. You'll probably need a die grinder to help get the old bearings out also. Anyway take all this into account when deciding the price, go get quotes to fix it if you need to and show them to the seller if he hasn't knocked down the price accordingly for the problem.
