'Morning Gang,
Installed my OE Fog lights on Saturday, and of course was very disappointed when they wouldn't turn on....so, can anyone tell me what I should expect to pay at the dealer to have the bcm programmed? As always, Thanks for the help!

I've heard anywhere from $50 to around $120. I'm not sure, I haven't done this mod yet. I'm still waiting around a little. Different dealerships will charge different amounts from my experience, so just call them and see. :)

At my dealership it's $95 CAN an hour. Why not just wire them outside the factory switch???

If your still under warranty just go in and tell them that they quit working

I installed the GM fog light kit in my 2003 Silverado LS this weekend. To my surprise the lights worked without having a dealer program the BCM module as the installation manuel indicated. Can anyone offer an explanation? incidentially, the installation diagrams leave much to be desired.....it looked like something done in China.

I know the diagram was horrible. That's why I ended up not using the factory switch. I wired mine seperately with a relay and then used the position where the Switch was suppose to go and wired in my own switch. This way I can have my Lights on anytime I want.

I just used a lead that goes on and comes off with the ignition from the Fuse panel that way I can never leave them on by accident. Also, this way they stay on Low Beam and High Beam.

I've heard from all the FOG light comments that some trucks come programmed with the Fog light option enabled on the BCM right from the factory even if they don't have the lights on the truck. I guess it's easier that way.
