how can i make a car faster but without any engine mods?????

hey guys

i was just wondering what i could to do (my future car) to make it faster without doing any enigne mods??

My future car will b either a EF civic or crx - for sure

im trying to plan it out now so ill have less dramas when i get the car

im guessing some suspension upgrades, brake upgrades ( to make it stop faster lol) umm also stripping of unneccessary weight, aero body kit parts ?? oh yeah and mayba better drivetrain setup ?

so yeh thats about it, but in general just for like any car how would u make it faster without any engine mods

NITROUS. But you would only be able to run a max of 50shot on a stock engine.

whats wrong with engine mods? I don't know what you expect to race with no engine mods....

nitrous would be the only way to get much hp out of that engine, without any sort of n/a setup or forced induction setup

well im planning on putting a b16a in it after i get it

street legal or dirt trak?
do the b swap, take out windows, replace with plexi glass, seats, finish pannels, every thing not 110% nessicary if its for a track, if not, if its street driven, then do the b swap and suspention, then see if it weighs to much

Plexiglass scratches very easy... not worth it IMO. If he was going for strictly track use lexan.

plexiglass breaks way too easily...lexan is the way to go.

yeah but you can make your own plexiglass side windos, and your not gonna use it for the front window so it can't get broken that easy. take everything out you don't need. If the air is broke take it out, loss the spare tire, no need for all them seats one will do. good luck on the back seat lol. if your gonna use a b16a the go noz and 75sht it.

maybe he doesn't know how to work on the engine himself? or he doesn't feel like bringin it to a shop? i'm kinda like that about engines, i have no idea how to work on one...i know the parts etc, but i'd be too afraid i'd break something so i'd get a shop to do it

making an engine fast without engine mods is...impossible

You can make your car run better with ajustments but you can only ajust a few things. There are some real easy mods to do. Like an intake. All it really is is taking out your old intake and putting in the new one. A few clamps.

get some super cool fast and the furious decals on the side of the car!

dont forget the fart can and sooper dooper cool green or yellow window tint, and type R stickers, apc makes reallly really awsome stickers too

last year in an import tuner magazine, they dynoed a car before and after installation of decals. I can't remember the month, but I remember it. It was in the power pages section. They dynoed a car stock. Then they had vinyl decals applied to the sides of the car. Then, they dynoed it again and it gained 1/2 Horsepower. So, they set the record straight, decals really do give you more HP!

anyway, to help the kid out...

if your not doing engine mods because your doing a swap and dont want to waste the money, first thing to do would be to get some good rims shod with some good tires. sticky ass tires= faster car.

then, strip off everything that isnt needed to run the car. lose the AC compressor, heater core, cruise control, back seats, carpet, noise dampening, insulation, etc etc etc.

start buying carbon fiber body parts, like hood, hatch, door panels, fenders, etc.

if you're only going to swap the engine, and plan on keeping the tranny (not a good idea but anyway) get an LSD.

you can also slap on a cat back exhaust. most popular engine swaps dont affect exhaust placement beyond the cat.

im planning on basically buying the car, doing suspension mods and stripping it and what ever else i could do - possibly a smaller battery- and whilst im doing all of that i would have alrdy purchased a b16a and then slowly modify out of the car and then when the car is rdy ill put the b16a in

would u reccommend that ??

and also and engine conversion will b a lil more expensive so i figure if i buy a suspension system first i can get more gains out of the car even though im still gonna put a b16a in it later on

i live in australia so finding honda engines is kinda hard....

Thats a good idea, I am going the same route myself. Suspension first then engine. I gotta ask what are you looking at doing with this car? Drag? AUtox? I got from your other post that you want to keep it N/A. I would recommend going with a higher displacement engine such as a b18c or a b20 in your case, or in any case. The torque is nice with these motors and in your b16 it just won't "feel" as fast.

this is basically gonna b my 1st car and also my street/ occasional drag car

n/a means naturally aspirated (no forced induction, which means turbos or superchargers, even though a turbo is a type of supercharger)

nope. not at all. I couldn't stop laughing at the eclipse tho...he even kept revvin' on me with his stock RS...not even turbo!....lol. (not that it matters...a GST or GSX is no match whatsoever for my CRX).
it's the same kinda person that will put a "nos" sticker on there car and have no nitrous kit. or the same kind of person that will drill holes in there exhaust to make it sound like an aftermarket system...

Couldnt have said it better. I respect the fact that you admit that you have no idea how to work on one, even tho theres gonna be someone out there to bust on you for it. Mad props man. As for the answer to the question, I would take out unnessesary things like the back seat, maybe the passenger seat, and the spare tire (if ya got one, which you should). Its not much of a change, but it'll work.
