525 display problem

Hi
I have a problem with the lcd display on my dash and also on my stereo/cd display. The display is not complete. Part of some of the characters are missing. It is difficult to read the mileage and trip computer readings etc. Has anyone had this problem before or know what is wrong. The car is a 1998 model 525tdse.

Unfortunately it is a common problem. I have a 1998 523i and have also display problems. A friend of mine had a 528i and had also display problems. So you're not on your own.

I just had the display in my 1997 740il replaced by BMW. I have 112K miles on it too... They paid for the part, I paid for an hour labor - $85. Call BMWNA and work out a deal w/ them.
