I am assuming that this is an automatic. If so, the torque convertor lock-up solenoid is bad and needs to be replaced. It is not unlocking properly and causing your car to stall. You can try by unplugging the solenoid at the top of the transmission, it is usually a blue plug. Pull the plug if the problem goes away problem solved. If not repost and we will try something else.

I dont think its that Because ..... it started one morning when i started it up it was dumping out white smoke...wasn't burning fuel .... put two new ignition coils, new ignition coil housing, spark plugs, and new boots. Thats when it would run but it still does it when it shifts into overdrive at 40. If i dont let it shift into overdrive until 50 it won't do it.... I think it does it when it is bogged down... and it will putter once or twice in the morning when i start it up... then it will run fine until it shifts at 40!!

I have the same problem just recently, luckily i have a good idea what it could be cause it gave me the same trouble before. Your problems could be attributed to a bad fuel pump. they are pretty expensive though. unless you already changed it that should be one of your last resorts. if you change the fuel pump you might want to change the fuel filter as well.
a bad fuel pump can very well cause your engine to misfire, and become underpowered while on the road. some mornings it might not want top start at all or you might have to crank that key a couple times to get yoru fuel pump running. if it's the fuel pump eventually it will just die on you and not run at all.
if you turn your ignition on you should hear your fuel pump but when your car doesn't want to start listen for that fuel pump. if you hear it then it's something else. if you can't hear it then there's your problem.
hope this can be of any help
good luck
