Yes, I'm yelling! :D I'd just like to say thank you to everyone who made this year's Convention happen. There are a ton of people to thank so I'll just leave it at a BIG thank you to everyone! There were also a couple vendors very active in this year's Convention. Hotshot Performance, Mossy Nissan, SR20 Development, Place Racing, and Brown and Brown Nissan to name a few. Thanks!
By far the best part of the Convention for me (other than seeing it go smoothly) was the track event. I had a VERY good day on Saturday, even though I only got 3 hours of sleep the night before, and was at teh track around 6am, to help setup. I had a ver good day, my Azenis kicked ass, even thought the track was extremely slick, they stuck very well. My brakes held up fine, the couple times I really pushed them, the motul fluid held up great, keeping the pedal solid all day. My motor ran strong all day, as did everything else it felt like. I managed to be one of the faster cars in my run group, which actually sorta suprised me, but I'm very happy about that. It was weird, last track event i was being passed on the straight, and hardly ever got an opportunity to pass, this time it was the opposite, i got waived by quite a bit, and really never had anyone catch me (except in the first session of the day, where I pulled out on the track late, and everyone else already had the lines sorta down, i think i was about 3-5 laps behind starting out on that session, DOH!. It's nice to know that my modifications have been all going in the right direction. Now I just need to work on keeping my skinny ass glued to the seat (I was sliding all over the place on Saturday) and I also need to pick up my own helmet. I will hopefully get both of those issues taken care of before the next track event.
Friday afternoon we managed to get a tour of the Nissan Test Facility here in Az somewhere between Tucson and Phoenix. there were quite a few cool things there, the facility was seriously nice. I'd tell you more, but I don't want people showing up in unmarked Nissan's taking me out for talking about their top secret cars :D
Sunday was the BBQ/carshow. Had a good time there. Brian (AZP10?) won best G20 (I'd bet it was your kick ass Momo rims that did it!). A nice Skyline GT-T showed up, driven by one of the Nissan employees. What I would give for a Skyline. :D I think a stock Skyline handles better than my GC/AGX equipped G20, althought I'm thinking they have quite a bit wider tires which would help a lot with handling. The raffle was after the BBQ. Lots of good prizes given out, including shirts, hats, pop chargers, Nissan Motorsports parts, ACT clutch gift certificate, and even an imported SR20 motor!!! (along with many other prizes). I didn't win anything, but that's ok, cause I helped set all that stuff up, so i'd almost feel bad winning it. besides, i only bought 5 raffle tickets, out of 700+ sold, the odds were against me anyways. *Note to Self: Buy more tickets next year.*
Well, that's about it for now, I know there is a lot more to be said, and there are many people to thank, but i'm too tired to think of them all right now. I'm still trying to recover from the past week and a half as they have been extremely busy and I'm almost glad it's over. But I can tell you this, I already can't wait until next year's Convention (mainly cause I can go to enjoy it, rather than help run it :D)
THANK YOU!
