99 Rodeo 3.2 stalling

My 99 Rodeo 3.2 started stalling intermittently about a week ago. Autozone scanned it and came up with an EGR error and P 0101, MAF sensor error. I cleaned the EGR as decribed in this forum, replaced the PCV valve, replaced the plugs with Bosch Platinum, (I know), and replaced the MAF sensor. The EGR error went away, but I still have the MAF error, and the intermittent stalling. The idle is not rough, it sometimes will just die. Driveability is otherwise good. Occasionly it will idle up to about 2000 rpms, then come down to normal. It might idle ok for a while, then stall. Sometimes it will idle up to about 800 rpms, then idle down to almost dying, then up again and keep surging up and down.
Can the notorious leaking intake gasket cause a MAF code error? Does a leaking intake gasket cause a rough idle, or can it cause a stalling problem also? If it can cause a stalling problem, can it be intermittent?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

check to see that all intake components are fastend securly.

Spray some brake cleaner over the engine's intake gasket area while its running. If the idle goes up, then there are leaks in the intake.

Thanks for the reply.

I checked for leaks with intake cleaner, couldn't find anything, but I don't think I could get to all areas. Anyway, if it was a intake leak, wouldn't the symptoms be there all the time?

first of all remove the stupid BOSH plugs install NGK
BOSH will cause misfires leading to premature failure of the catalyst which will end up costing about $600 to replace
now on to the other problem sounds like it may be eletrical there ar three conectors under the P/S resivoir blue,green and white disconnect them be sure they are clean slighty twist the male side pins in all three connectors and reconnect

All 3 plugs were clean and I wiggled all the male pins. No help with that. Any more suggestions?
I'll change the plugs to NGK this weekend.

Most vehicles will do have that idle problem due to failing TPS (can't be cleaned and just replace it), failing IAC (can be cleaned and clean the bore where it the IAC goes in the throttle body).

Check to make sure your battery is still good as well as your alternator. I have similar issue with my battery, I can start it (battery looses a lot of charge during cranking) and once I let it IDLE, a few minutes the engine IDLE surges and then died. Narrowed down to a bad battery not able to re-charge itself quickly enough. Battery load testing, confirmed that the battery was failing.
