Hi everyone,
I have a 98 Eclipse GST. While driving on bumpy roads I notice rattling noises that most likely is coming from the sunroof. The sunroof works, but not sure why there's noise. It's starting to annoy me a lot. Does anyone have any advice, have a similar problem, or know how or where to get it fixed? Hopefully it won't be expensive. Thanks.

Yea, I have the same problem also. The noice is from the sunroof glass making contact with a little metal bar when the roof is closed. I've tried tighting down the 6 screws thats holding the sunroof, but it still rattled. So what I did is just to get a piece of rubber and stick it in the part between the roof and the metal plate, ghetto way of fixing it but it works and you don't really see the rubber. If anyone know a good way to fix it, I would love to know also.
By the way, since you are new, please put your car info (year, model) in your signature.

you may need to replace the rails that your sun roof slides on but they are something like 70 buck a piece. At least that is how much they were last time i was going to do it

I've had this problem even with a new sunroof. The sunroof is a point of weakness on your car roof When hitting bumps some of the pressure of the body of the vehicle slightly twists and turns making the sunroof shift (just a little), thus creating the sound of the glass moving against the rubber. If you don't see any damage, rust, leaking etc... then I wouldn't worry about it.
