is it worth modifying a 305TPI or should i just go for a 350 and bolt my fuel injetion on with bigger injectors but id rather have a fast 305 just to be a lil diff seems like everybody talks about how 305s are trash but i think you could make a 305 pretty quick with not so much money anyone and my car has an emissions blower on the exhaust to pass emissions or somthn will it run right with out it?

stock most 305's are boat anchors. However it and all GM engines have lots of potential. Change the cam, but some good heads on, carb or injected you'll have a quick car.

Vortec are great, check edelbrock. But any high flowing heads should do fine.

supercharger would be ok. but you'd want the cam first.

Really the 305 is not much of a motor. It has a hard time fighting off detonation, even with aluminum heads. With its tiny bore it keeps the valve size very limited. If you have the money get the 350. If you are on a tight budget then stick with the 305.

if it comes down to a blower you'll want the less aggressive cam. If you put an aggressive naturally aspirated cam into a supercharged motor you'll over scavenge the exhaust and actually lose power as opposed to if you just left the stock cam in..
