Got an Evo....kinda
Mr. Luos

Never really got a chance to run him head to head. But I was pulling on him a couple times.
Both of us were getting on the highway. I was a bit ahead of him, I was getting on from the south, and he was getting on from the north.
Highway was basicly wide open once we hit it, and I noticed him behind me. So I dropped back into second, and took off. Watching him in the rear-view, he was VERY slowy falling behind me. I backed off at the top of third, and switched lanes. He flew by me.
Later on, after we both backed down to the speed limit, a red Miata flew by both of us going about 75. The Evo hit it before I did, and right away pulled past the Miata. I in turn decided to see if I could keep chase. Dropped it into 3rd, and took off. Hit fourth, and the Evo wasn't pulling me at all. I actually started gaining on him, not quickly though. Ended up getting about even with him before having to let off for my exit.
I waved at the Evo driver, and he in turn honked back.
Would have been fun to see what would have happened if we could have ran from a slower roll, and actually been lined up.
Oh, and I still hate this altitude shit, I should have probably walked this Evo. :iceslolan

Good story, you should race that evo from a stop i bet it would have been pretty close, at least till you hit highway speed then you would probably walk and then run away.

Probably about right. Off the line, he has the advantage.
Plus, here......Turbo > N/A.........5400 feet above sea level.

Scary part is.....that is the LT1 version I believe. The LS1 pulls MUCH harder top end than the LT1.

The other day I was riding with my mom in her Pathfinder and we were out shopping. And we pull up to a brand new EvoVIII MR.
And I turned to my mother and said:
"see, this is what happens when I let you drive... we see a brand new Evo MR... and I can't do a damn thing about it."
Her responce:
"Deal with it."

Gonna build an LS6, eh Mr. Luos?

Turbo > NA 100% of the time....lol. Nice race.
Depends.
The turbo cars have a much larger advantage here, more forced in air.
I see what you mean, add a turbo to said N/A car, and away you go. But I prefer my N/A car, at least for now. :evillol:
I plan on giving this 402ci a bit of a s/c boost. :iceslolan
But that is years in the making.
Either way, both high compression N/A motors and turbo motors have their advantages. Basicly comes down to what you like.
Personally, I like both. I can't wait to toss a 8-10PSI S/C on the 402ci LS1.
Gonna build an LS6, eh Mr. Luos?
Actually, a little more than that. 6.0 LQ9 = Iron block. Stroked to 402ci.

i know what you ment. Of corse the Evo's motor off boost v. your motor= no comparison. but turbos can up boost in high alittude environments to make up for lost performance. seems like your going to have yourself one hell of a car...

So far, the basics. Airbox lid, 85mm MAF, headers, cat-back, hi-flow cats.
Recently installed an aftermarket camshaft. Lunati grind.
Before the cam, it made 344 RWHP.
Dynoing next Sunday, and hoping for around 360-365 RWHP before tune.
Next mod...........LQ9 block.....402ci stroker. :iceslolan
Video is over half done...SOON!!!

It will be up sometime tomorrow. Didn't think the rendering of this thing would take this long. My fault.
