So last night we had a huge snow storm and my engine got covered by snow that blew in under the hood. when I started my car she started to vibrate like crazy, not like engine cutting out shaking, but like there is a jack hammer in my trunk shaking. I get the feeling that this is not normal, anybody else ever have that happened

You probably have snow or ice stuck in your rims.

I have a 2004 Cavalier and live in Saskatchewan,Canada. We have had some very, very cold weather here and my car shakes at idle also. It is simply the motor mounts getting very stiff and not absorbing the vibrations from the motor. The past couple of days have been warmer and my car now idles normally with no unusual vibrations. Perhaps you are experiencing the same situation as I am??

Yeah it happens here in Ontario too. But it goes away for us because it's only -18. once they have been vibrating for a bit and the engine worms they shoudl soften and it should go away!

No.... thats 100% normal with these. Happens more so with auto than manual since auto idle lower than them. If you still think otherwise i'll be more than happy to link you to JBO threads on them.
