I'm looking to buy a battery charger for the battery in my car. It's a 96 328i. What type of battery charger do i need because when i was at the store i noticed that there were different types, i think depending on how many amps?? If anyone can tell me what type to buy i'd greatly appreciate it!!! thanks

Stay with a name brand, 'Automatic' charger of modest physical size, DON'T buy Cheap!, there are differences in technologies that sense the batteries state of charge. Better charges have a momentary setting to override the 'Polarity Protection' circuitry to begin charging 'flat' [ very dead, low voltage ] batteries AND DON'T buy a HIGH AMP. charger, 10A max. is just fine! A charger should NEVER be used to 'Jump Start' a car anyway. A quality 10A charger will crank a dead battery car with-in 30-45 min's. safely.....disconnect the charger while doing so. I don't push brands but I've used < $100.00 SEARS units for years with great success.
