Hello everyone,
Does anyone know how to remove the window control module on the driver's door without destroying the cover? Every manual i've read says just to pry it out. That's not really working for me since the cover starts to crack when I try and all the switches are coming out with the cover.
I'm working on a loose wire/connection in the power window lockout switch. It allows my drivers window to work but not the others (unless is play with the switch a little and then they work).
I'm at a loss and the local Jeep people want me to buy a whole new door panel (around $300 just for the panel). That's a little expensive for a loose connection.
Thanks

the "cracking" noise might just be the plastic "plugs" used to hold panel on, make sure you remove all screws around switches and arm rest, usa a 3" metal putty knife and startat the bottom corner and slide putty knife in until it hits the plastic plugs about 2" in from edge of the panel, than twist the knife to remove them, than remove rod from pull latch and remove wires , than you should see motor :2cents:

Does that mean I'm taking the whole door panel off to get to the back of the module? The door panel looks easy enough to remove. I was trying to get to the wiring by removing the cover to the switch module. I think it's heat welded to the panel. The cracking is happening above and below the electric mirror directional switch. I guess I was using a little more muscle than brains. Good thing is when you put the cover back on, the cracks disappear and blend back in.
Thanks for the help, scuba.
