2001 Silhouette heating

I just bought a 2001 Silhouette i cannot seem to get the heating up to a comfortable temp. The air blows fine just seems to be cooler. any one any ideas.

Did you get any warranty coverage?

Possibilities: Restricted coolant flow through heater core, air trapped in the cooling system, temp control baffles not working properly? Could be one (or combination) of those.

Do you have any other symptoms? What does the temp gauge read most of the time? My 2001 Venture usually reads between 1/4 & 1/2.

Third time for cooling systems today, try bleeding the system, if the cooling system has recently been drained some air might not get out of system and forms an air lock. There are two small brass bleed screws on the engine, try opening them a turn or so until a steady stream of coolent comes out. Do this with the system warm and running (watchout it hot). There is no reason for air to get into the system other than a bad recovery system (split hose, or tank) or a leaking head gasket. If your getting bubbles into the recovery tank you probably have a leaky head gasket (not uncommon for Aluminum Heads), try the Alumaseal procedure I'vd used as outlined to risingernicole in the post "Head Gasket"
