05 Rubicon starter prob

My Rubicon starter gives me one click and that is it. But it only does this after being submerged or in some deep mud, then cooling off. It will still start fine while under the water, but later just one click. It still roll starts fine, it seems like it is either freezing up or holding water. After long drives the starter will be fine again. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

There's your problem. You have mud or water in the starter which comes out while going down the road.

There's a thread here about waterproofing your vehicle, you may want to take a look at that; even though you've got a Rubicon there are things you could do to improve the water survivability.
