CV tranny fluid change procedure question

I was reading the crown vic tranny fluid change procedure posted on the crownvic.net web site (http://www.crownvic.net/tech/). It states to remove the fluid from the torque converter to remove the plug and let it drain. After the entire procedure is done you had ~10 quarts of fluid to the tranny for refill. My question is, how does the fluid get back into the torque converter. Does the fill tube go directly into the converter and the excess fluid drains out of the converter to fill the rest of the tranny?

Thanks

Disregard, when adding the additional 6 quarts of fluid the car is idling in park. I assume while the car is idling the fluid is getting recirculated through the entire transmission. That makes sense.

Yes, the flow of ATF through the system is as follows:

pan> filter> pump> T/C> cooler> gearset & valve body> pan.
