spare key help

maybe someone could help me out on this one, my gf lost her only key to her 98 cavalier. i was wondering if she is gonna need a whole new steering column or can she have a key made from a dealership or locksmith somehow. its kinda a bad situation up here in CT with all this snow we are getting. her car is stranded in some parkin lot. any help will be greatly apprieciated.

Yea A locksmith could probably make one. it will probably cost though. i am not sure if the dealer will be able to. but if you contact the place u bought it they sometimes keep a spare on file. well i know a few dealerships that do that.

yes they will make one for you, same thing happen to me cost about 70.00

dealership can always help... but you will pay out the ass... 3 keys came with the car.. Of which none of them have ever had to be used except the original. With an alarm system, its kind of hard to forget your keys in the car knowing you have to arm the system.

Call the dealer with your VIN number and they can make you another one. They might ask that you give them proof of ownership though.
