Has anyone ever used any of these gears on the street? Do you perhaps have a link to a site selling these products? I've checked newenough.com, but they don't offer much variety. I think the knee armours would be a feasible alternative to wearing leather-riding pants all day long. And body armour would be great for extra protection inside the jacket.

Draggin Jeans or equivalent from Icon etc... are all good alternatives to full leathers. I know it's not what you asked about, but what the heck.

most jackets come with armour anyway. if not look at the full mesh suits with armour in all the right spots. its not just about having the armour but having it stay where its supposed to when you need it. draggin jeans are a good alternative and i rate my redmax version highly. knee armour will probably only come in good quality leathers. unless its sewn in i doubt it will stay when you need it to.
my dainese jackets and pants all have zippered sections inbuilt for the armour and all can be removed

I have a SPIDI full suit that I wear once in a while. I crashed in it once. The pads in the shoulders and knees did their job. No broken bones. I was sore, but OK.
I wear a Joe Rocket Speedway with shoulder, elbow and back protection every time I ride. It is the minimum saftey gear for my upper body.

I’ve got a vanson jacket with hard armor. It’s real expensive so I don’t really recommend it. Joe rocket has some great stuff for a better price, just get hard/GP armor! That’s the only kind I trust. I wear these shorts under my jeans when I’m going long distances: http://www.rockymountainatv.com/Product_Details.atv?pid=00090542 (http://www.rockymountainatv.com/Product_Details.atv?pid=00090542)
I sweat my balls off in the hot weather, but it’s got a crotch pad that keeps me in the seat for a longer time.

Vanson's are quite a bit more money, but they are worth it. If I remember correclty, they carry a life time warranty and repair guarentee.
