auto manual transmission

i was lookin at the new g35 and the auto. trans. was a auto manual and it seems to be just about as fast as the manual so i have a 2002 mustang with a auto trans. and my dad told me that they used to make auto manual kits to put on ur car with the muscle cars so do they still make then and if they do where can i find them.

There is a lot of difference between the G35's triptronic type set-up and a manual valve-body like ya dad is talking bout.

so what is the difference between me putting my car in 1st right now and shifting up to drive and me doing it with the manual vaulve-body transmission?and do i have to get the transmission my the make or by the model/year?

and can u adjust a comp. mod to the manual vaule body transmission

The old manual valve bodies had to be shifted into each gear, you couldn't leave it in Drive and expect it to shift like an automatic. Why not get a real performer and get a manual stick and dump the slush box.
