I have a leaking oil filter housing on my 95 Cherokee 4.0 HO my service guy seemed to think that the torx head bolt was loose, but didn't have the right wrench to tighten it, can anyone here verify that this is indeed a torx and if it is what size?
going on a long trip Monday the 24 of Jan and I would like to tighten this thing up before I go.

if it's a torx bolt,it's a T-60 but it probably isn't loose. The o-rings tend to turn hard like plastic and that's why it leaks. The o-rings are only a couple of bucks

If the filter housing is loose, you should be able to move it around by grabbing the filter itself. I doubt it's loose. I'd go with XJ and say one of the seals is bad.

In the parts guide it looks like a simple hex head (that's what I have on my '88). It should be easy enough to reach and see for yourself. You can see it pretty clearly from below. You should be able to tell if it's leaking from under the bolt head (has a large integrated washer) or from the housing to engine seal.

It's a simple enough DIY job. You can find the o-rings in just about any autoparts place (except where I live).
