Hood Release

I have a 1998 F 150 and teh hood will not open. Is there another way to open it?. The cable is not broken, but it just will not release the hood. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

when you pull the hood release does it want to stay where it is? If so, your cable is probly stretched too much. If you can get to the mechanism try spraying wd on the spring and cable. It may have a lot of gunk build-up, so it cannot travel far enough to release the hood latch.
