i was thinking of the same thing, but you gotta do so much extra work to get it in. I'm sure to begin with you'd have to cut out the wheel wells, new radiator i'm thinking, fan, (tranny?). but keep in mind that i'm not sure thats what i've been told

I'm doing a 5.7 Vortec from a 99 Escalade in my second gen... Things needed are as follows
Engine
Engine Harness
ECM (Will need to be reprogrammed with an off bench programmer)
Some rewiring
Conversion Oil Pan (stock won't fit)
2.2 conversion mounts
E-Fan
Larger Radiator
Conversion Headers (Stock is too wide)
Notch the evaporator casing
New down pipe
Acessories (ac, alternator, etc)
Time
Mine is on the stand, we've already started the build up (More agressive cam, port and polish the heads etc...) Between that and fuel curve modifications we should end up with between 300-320 out of it...If you want more than that, go to an LS1 :)

I don't know if it's because I'm Canadian, or the fact that I live in a small town, but for the life of me I don't know what you mean by Dizzie, can you please tell me.

distributor, sorry its used a lot like that in the honda forum (dont wanna hear it i give myselfe enough shit by the day for driven a forign car, but at 40+ miles to the gallon, and a clogged up cat on the truck, which now gets 12 mpg, the forign thing was a good investment)

Thanks for the clear-up.
That's why my hot-rods always get Ford motors, I can slam them against the firewall.
Well my daily driver is a Mercury Topaz diesel just because it gives me 50 mpg no mater how, or where I drive.

I believe that the bell housings are different, so you'll want the other trucks transmission. If it's a 4x4 I'd hust grab a 4.3L S-10 4x4 transmission, and all the mounts to make it easiest

If you live close enough to where I live (south central BC Canada) I know where there's a comaro 5 speed for sale. (I believe that it was re-built and never installed, but I might be wrong)
