the 5 min flush also needs to be run through your vehicle. I have used it numerous times and had no problems. It does a pretty decent job. I had flooded my vehicle and when I did an oil change I used the flush. The flush went in clear and came out black. also brought a lot of dirt and debris with it out.

I ran Gunk 5 min. engine flush through a severely neglected & sludged up 267 V8 in a '79 Malibu I traded for following the directions EXACTLY and putting fresh oil and filter after the flush. It's a thin solvent and I worried about the bearings but loosened up alot of junk and 1 oil & filter change a week for 3 weeks finally cleaned up the motor with no damage.
On a motor with roller lifters, I wouldn't use it because of all the junk it loosens quickly. I believe 3 or 4 1000 mile oil & filter changes would accomplish the same thing and not overload the oil filter to the point of bypassing the junk back to the oil system.

Just throw it in the warm oil and idle it for 30 minutes and dump your oil and replace with a fresh oil filter and oil.
Sometime, it is smart to swap in another cheap oil filter when you are running the flush just to catch all the crap coming out. Then install another oil filter with the fresh oil.

yes but I am sure that the can also says to drain your oil first than add. Blazer LT said to run 30 mins becaue he adds to the oil before he even drains anything. the can assumes that it will be the only thign in your system.

Run it through for 30 with it only at idle.
Might as well swap on a cheap oil filter while you are doing it to catch all the crap it will be dislodging and cleaning.

Trust me on this ok.
Put it in and idle for 30 minutes, it will not hurt anything at all, and keep it ONLY at idle.

No, the filter will catch all of it.
That is why I suggest installing a cheap oil filter while you do it.

I agree with LT, 30 mins, with the engine at idle only will do a good job and it won't hurt anything. The best cleaner I have seen though, is the GM engine crankcase cleaner. That stuff really works. I put it in with the engine warm and let it idle for about 30mins, and it worked wonders. I changed the oil and filter with cheap oil, put the cleaner inside, and ran it. After about 30mins with it just idling, the new oil was black, and looked like it had 10,000 miles on it. Replaced oil and again changed it after 1000 with a flush again. After that, the engine was clean and ran better, smoother, right to the time I sold it. It also was a '89 4.3L. I kinda regret selling it, but anyways thats what I did.

Nice, yea, it is best to run the flush through with a new oil and cheap filter for 30 minutes.
Then dump the oil and filter and pour a cup of oil in the fill tube so you force out all the stuff in the oil pan.

Engine flush is faster and much easier to use.
You just warm up the engine, drop it in, let it idle for 30 minutes, drop the oil and the filter and refill with new oil and filter.
Bam, done in 45 minutes instead of waiting 500 miles to change your oil.
