Just out of curiousity....the little sticker on the inside of my 93 coupe says: G.V.W.R 3,490. Is that the weight of my car or something else? I didn't think the coupes weighed anymore than 2600-2800...or was that the hatches? Any way...in a round about figure; using carbon fiber parts what would be the ideal weight I'd be saving. I'm planning on using a C.F hood, C.F trunk (when they make it), the Spoon C.F lip, and a few other items. I'd like to weigh as much as a hatch when it's all said and done...but that's just depending on the weight of the car in stock form. So I guess the questions to be answered are:
The weight of a 1993 honda civic EX coupe...
The loss of pounds when using C.F parts...
And the round-about weight added when using a bigger motor...(such as the B18C1)?
Any help will be greatly appreciated...thanks

What company and website can I find the trunk? And where-abouts can I find the actual weight of the car without the bunch of crap in it? I mean when it comes down to it, I'll be the only one in the car during a race...thanks for the answers...keep helping me out.

The only way to know exactly how much your car weighs is for you to weigh it. Any list online (and there are probably over a hundred) is a basic estimate, you won't find a absolute answer unless you do it yourself.

ive done this a few times, but if you live near a rural highway, they have old weighing stations that arent used anymore but the scale still works. If you can find one then just roll up on it and check out the weight.

or

take something to a local dump that measures the weight you dropped off. the difference would be the weight of your car.

They have carbon fiber trunks, lips, and hoods.

a cf lip will not make you lighter it will make you heavier.
and if you really want to shave weight, change everyhting fiberglass.

A CF lip is a lightweight alternative to a urethane bodykit. Fiberglass breaks/cracks too easily for daily driving.

yeah but if you are so worried about weight savings then you dont need to add anything. a lip is an addition. and as for fiberglass i agree its hard to maintain but if you really serious about saving weight its the way to go. ( of course i figure if you need to care taht much about weight savings then you arent making enough power)

Yep. The Civics are light enough as it is anyway.
