3.4 pulley question

Just installed a 3.4 pulley and I am going to buy a larger tensioner pulley tomorrow. What size so you guys recommend to tighten up the belt good?
I don't have the money right now to do anything else to my car. How important is it to remove the u-bend now that I have the 3.4? Do I need to make it a priority, or just get to it when I can?
BTW New coupler = no chatter!!!

Did you buy a new belt or use the old one???
Just get to it when you can.

Probably should have done the u-bend delete first. You're pushing a lot more air through that little space with the 3.4. Recommend you get that done and add either a FWI or CAI to let it breath more.

Why do you feel you need a larger tensioner pulley ??

belt seems loose, read in a previous thread that larger tensioner pulley was best way to resolve

I was also thinking of doing this mod. I already have a CAI on the car, but what are some better ways of getting rid of the excess heat the blower is going to create. I was thinking of a 180 degree stat. Any other suggestions????

That mod has nothing to do with heat.
The 180 Tstat with keep op temp down. I live in Florida and run a 160 Tstat. But never had trouble with overheating.
But seeing that it's going down to the low 30's tonight, I'll trade it for some heat.
Larry trying to tell him that if he used the Gator replacement belt, he won't have to replace pulley. At a lower price, and A LOT easier.

I used the old belt.
Always a good idea to replace with new belt when doing a pulley swap, since the old belt has some mile's on it and could be streched out.

I think I have the belt problem taken care of. Gatorback should be 4060660 but for some reason I have 4060667.
I am still trying to track down the chatter coming from my belt assembly. Its definately on the main drive belt. When I spray with wd40 it doesn't even sound like my car. its so quiet... for about 10 seconds. I have a new idler and pulley. When I closely inspect all the pulleys, it seems like the water pump isn't true. I don't have any leakage, but I think this could be the problem. What's this sound like to everyone else?
Sorry I've posted so much with stupid questions. I'm laid off work and have really been wanting to get my car running good for a while. So, I am taking on one project after the next. Thanks esp. to BIG-L!!!

Im just getting into something the I dont know anything about. I dont want to go buy a waterpump, if one of you guys are going to say, "hey, go check this first" I thought that the whole "quiets with wd40 on the belt" thing may tell somebody something.
Ive searched the forum for information about waterpump problems and no one has ever mentioned anything like this.
Please be patient with me. This forum has become my main resource for info on my car. I could either stand by the car and guess, or come ask more informed people.

I dont think it's that water pump, sounds more like the Accessory belt tensioner pulley going bad and its close to the water pump.
Here is a pic of the complete Accessory belt tensioner

Or you can replace just the pulley

Both of the pics are gates parts and they are correct part numbers.

Can someone explain to me how to remove the belt tensioner pulley? I got a breaker bar to loosen the bolt holding the pulley to the tensioner arm but the bolt just seems to be spinning. I ratcheted for 30 minutes straight and the bolt moved maybe a couple of millimeters. Am I doing something wrong? Is this thing reverse threaded and I just stripped it? I am turning counter-clockwise to loosen.
Thanks
Dan
