Transfer Case?

Hey I am tryin to figure out what is goin on with my blazer. I'm starting to think My transfer case is gone. My 89 blazer starts fine, and runs good at idle. It barely goes forward and dies everytime I stop. It will NOT go in reverse at all. My transfer case only will read nuetral, when I put it in 4 hi or 4 lo or even 2 it doesn't light up at all. So I'm tryin to figure out if I have to replace just my transfer case or my tranni to. If anyone has any ideas of what it might be I would really appreciate it. THANK you
