I think he may be saying that he shouldn'tve let you be able to steal the second time - so since he wasn't on guard from learning his lesson the first time, he's shaming himself.

either that, or the philosphical significance behind it is the amazing phenonenom known as "postwhoring" that only occurs when in a totally desperate state of mind.
