transmission problem??? help please

my 2001 eclipse (automatic) has been having problems when coming to a stop. the rpm meter is jumping from .5 to 1.5. Also when i step on the gas the car sometimes jumps a little bit. also when i am stuck in traffic for a while i notice that the thermostat is rising until i start moving again. also when i start it up in the morning it makes and awful sound and the car shakes somthing fierce until it heats up a little.. when i am driving though the car moves through the gears fine it is just when i go from start to stop that i am having all these problems. When i am going start to stop the car sometimes jumps into gear a little.... my thought is a transmission problem, but it is weird because i would think it would do it when i am driving and changing speeds, but it is only when i go from start to stop. i just had the transmission fluid flushed and nnew trans fluid put in and that hasnt helped at all... if you guys have any thoughts on what you think is wrong please post a response.. thanks

throttle sensor? that might be the problem with the engine RPMs jumping around.

hey hey now. every manufacturer has lemons. its true that mitsu has had their share of them, but that doesnt mean all of them are crap. i think the evo is far from crap.

I know of 3 evo's that have had their tranny's go out within 15Kmiles. Mitsu has never had a god tranny. Thats why they barley raced any WRC events last year. They spent the whole time developing a new tranny that wouldnt break. And the 2G tranny's are netorious for crank walk. Mitsu has had more than their share of lemon's. But they do produce an awesome engine that is only matched by a 2.5 made by Subaru. Kinda sad our 2.0 can beat a 2.5. Oh well, they make up for it with their tranny's, and their reputation in the WRC!

Not all of them are pieces of shit like sticken said you got a lemon...
