im going to put in a new head light switch, also while im at it im going to put in all new lights cause the gas, oil and voltage guage light bulbs are blown. i know to remove the dash pad, pop the bezel off from around the guages, then remove the screws from around the cluster and pull it out.
now to my ?, after removing the screws from around the guage cluster, do they just slide out. ('90 RS) or does my car have the speedo cable?
see i removed my bro's guage cluster from his trans am (86) and it was a breeze, nothing to disconnect just remove the screws and slide it out of the dash. im hoping thats all i need to do.

yeah thats all you need to do.. Everything is electronic, so you can pull the whole cluster out.. Steering wheel has to be all the way down, and usually you gotta play with it a little bit..

Isnt it just vinyl over foam?? Not really anything to glue too.. You could try gluing it, and bolting it back to the door to hold it in place

Tacoma, I wrote up a somewhat detailed explanation of removing the gauge cluster a few weeks back, here's a link if it helps...
