how easy is it to install new carpet yourself? has anyone taken on this task themselves? just to let yall know the car is a 4th gen accord

are you talking about the carpet on the floor or what? if the floor then its easy. You just take out the seats by removing the four bolts that hold them in place. then take off the console and the part where the shifter is at. then take out the rear seats and pop up the door sill plates, take out the old carpet and put the new one in reversing the steps.
