I've got some money to spend now, and I WAS watching the stock market closely for a while, I invested in Google and sold later and made good money, about $50 a share, which was around 50-sumodd percent profit. But I haven't even LOOKED at the market now and NOW Ive got a good lot to invest and I don't have the slightest clue what looks promising.

Worse, I HATE brokers, and now I don't even know what online companies or anything give good per-share prices or anything. Anyone know ANYTHING about the market right now?

Get a datek.com account, you can buy and sell stocks when ever you like. Ive been investing in a few companies that have been bringing me a couple bucks latley if you wana check them out. Mat, and Mvl are the symbols (dont think because of their industry they cant make some good money). If your looking for a long term investment id check out a few dividend paying blue chip stocks. Those are a little more expenxsive but worth it for the long hold. Good luck playing the market, and guys rule 1 is BUY LOW SELL HIGH!

I would like to invest about $500 for 1-2 months. What looks promising?

I used to invest some as a lil kid, when I was like 12 I put $450 of my hard earned money into TTLN, it eventually went bankrupt... Needless to say I never want to play with stocks again. It's too unpredictable, and I hate even if the companies does well it's all about expectations and if it doesn't meet it, stock price will plunge

My Father and I are probably going to be investing a lot of money into Sirius Satellite Radio. With the signing of Howard Stern and the fact that most auto manufacturers install Sirius from factory I believe they are on the road to become just as big, if not bigger, than XM Radio. Sirius' stock right now is around $5.50 a share, XM's is around $34.00. I'm willing to bet these two companies stock prices will meet somewhere in the middle over the next coming years leaving the Sirius investors with a lot of money. :)

But then again, I'm totally new to this so I may be completely wrong. I'm just pretty good at watching consumer trends.

Really isnt that simple at all. Do these companies even have a similar number of shares outstanding?
