A 90 Ranger regular cab, the fuel guage stopped working. It responds with the key.( initial startup of truck) Doesn't register quanity of fuel in tank. Checked connections, and rocked the heck out of the truck, no luck. Yes there is about 10 gallons of fuel in it.

Huh? So it works then it doesn't? Or it doesn't work at all? If it doesn't work at all and you've checked the connections I would think that you have a bad fuel level sender..

Thanks pete, I kind of suspected the sender being bad, but figured I would get some other input. The guage doesn't register fuel amount at all. Just does its little jump when the key is turned to on, then returns to its default position.

The sending unit is more commonly the problem than the gauge its self so I would start there too.
