This truck problem is making me lose my damn mind! To begin with, my truck didnt have any power going down the road. No power what so ever, and i had 3 lean codes in it. So I replaced the fuel pump, filter, and some lines and it ran great, except in the morning. Now it would start right up but wouldnt stay running at an idle. Plus it was running too rich and smoking like a *itch. So i then replaced the thermostat and coolent temp. sensor and switched back to my oringinal TB. The truck starts right up now in the cold mornings and idles fine (the engine light even went off). But now im back at my oringinal problem- Lack of power when acclerating! I know that a clogged cat. might be causing this, but when driving i keep thinking its not getting gas for some reason. If i have to drive the wifes car to work one more time, she is going to rip my nuts off, and im going to kill mysef (hate cars). Please Help...

How many miles and what year/model vehicle?

If you have a plugged cat, it might cause the problems you're listing. Does the engine rev freely? Feel the exhaust while the engine is running; does it push strongly or does the flow seem weak?

my 91 runs rich also. it has plenty of power though. only if you manually shift it. something jammed up in the kickdown linkage. mine smokes i think because of old valve seals that leak oil into cylinders wich causes it to sputter for a second then when the oil is burned out it runs ok. my fuel injectors leak also wich causes it to run rich.

I have a 91 Ram 318/auto. it has about 138k on it. So i guess i should do something with the cat anyway. It wouldnt hurt. And when i switched out TB again i looked at my original one ( the one i put back on) and one of the injector tips looked to me like it was turning brown. Maybe that one is shot and adding to the problem huh?

It's certainly possible that the injector isn't doing what it's supposed to, after 138K and 13 years. I've never had a TBI injector out so don't know if they're supposed to turn brown, but since the other one isn't that would be a decent indicator.
