i have a 96 camaro z28, one night i drove my car home worked perfectly fine the night before didn't act up or stutter, the next morning when i went outside to start my car it will turn over but won't start, i can hear the fuel pump going but the car wont fire up, i removed the fuel cap and saw dirt around it i'm not sure if this is normal being that i live in cali "no offence" or was this foul play?

Hmmm. I would get under your car and remove the tank side of your fuel line from your fuel filter, crank it and see what comes out. If it wasn't foul play and she's pumping good I would start looking in your ignition system. Specifically the ignition module. Do you have a spark checker?

thanks for the tip!!!! it turns out to be some sort of spark problem there is no spark going to the plugs and this did happen after a couple days of raining if that has anything to do with it, i'm still stumped and how to solve it, i would appreciate all the tips and help i can get

My camaro is a 3rd generation. Not up on the 4th gens. Does your car have a regular distributor and external ignition coil? 9 times out of 10 when you don't have spark its the ignition module. (which mine is mounted on the distributor itself). Check and make sure all your spark plug wires are tight at both ends. I would grab you a $20 chilton book for your model. It will give you the steps to test your ignition system. Hopefully a few 4 Gen owners will chime in and help.
Good Luck!!
