a twinturbo vehicle isn't what i call a good first car. kid doesnt have the skill to handle 320hp.
i say start with n/a, but its your choice, if you go turbo, BE CAREFULL!

You know they are right a twin turbo car isnt a good car for first timers but if you have the time and patience to save your money and get it by all means do. the stealth r/t turbo is a good car but its not a vr4 they say there is no difference but the vr4 is a little bit faster.
o by the way get full coverage insurance on the car.......
and your life. :evillol:

Dude 3000GTs were never sold in canada, I hope you live close to the border. I think the stealths were though.

yea, a turbo model definitely is not a good car. I know younger peeps who totalled their non-turbo due to driving too fast. Also, insurance will be a PIA, along with maintance, and face it, these cars are getting older every day and requiring more maintenance. I'd say that an ES or R/T non-turbo would make a great first car, and learn on that for about two years, meanwhile, get yourself a steady job at the time. Then, when your around 18, trade it in for a twin turbo, and then you'll have the money saved up for insurance, maintanence, and mods.
And trust me on this one, my friend had to go out and buy a $500 corolla just so he had something to drive. He's had a 92 vr-4 for maybe a year and a half. First off, his transfer case screwed up his transmission, luckily its under a recall and he got a new transmission for free. Then while his tranny was under warranty, his 2nd gear synchro went out and got another tranny. Then he threw on a manual boost controlller, intake, and gutted his precats, and his clutch wore out soo fast that the rivets were hitting the flywheel, so he had to get a brand new upgraded clutch. After having that done, his shifter broke on him, and he had to use duct tape on his shifter linkage so he could shift gears. Once he finally put that in and was back to racing, he spun a rod bearing, so now thats where he's at, and he's about to buy a diamente 6g72 motor for $100 and drop that in and run high compression for a while cause thats the only way he can get his car going anytime soon.

They are the same car, and if anything, the Stealth TT would be a tad faster than the vr4, due to it weighing a BIT less.

Hi There Matt
You are smaller than me only by 2 years .. I am 15 years old ..
Btw , Some advised ya about getting NA .. I don't agree with them because The Driver can goes more than 100MPH in both NA and TT ..
My advice to you to get another normal car in the beginning .. I am not talk down you man .. The beginners have to practise How to launch the car and How to shift fast .. Some people burn the clutch or make problems in the engine .. If you got money to fix the car , It's okay ..

yes, both can go over 100, but only one of them can get up to 165-170, and with a MBC for 20 bucks, even more. The N/A's are very reliable cars, and if you dont have funds to keep up with the expensive maintenance on 3/S's then an N/A is a great car until you can come up with the funds to support a TT.

Thats what I did and I would reccomend it to anyone who can't afford a VR4 but wants one.

but see, my bro has a car that is manual, he lets me drive it in big parking lots, i have had alot of practice and can ahift farelly well, my bro has a t-bird supercoupe 97, but i will take what you said in consideration, how much on average would it coast to fix a broken clutch anyway?

well, would u be putting on the stock clutch or a different one?
steviewonder_13

diffrent one, i most likely won't have stock clutch, or basically any stock.

top speed wasn't my concern, its how fast the car moves, its very similar to owning a corvette. i wouldn't recomend any 13.5 second car to a begginner. and practice in a parking lot doesn't say much. it takes years to learn to be a excellent driver. usually young kids are speed happy and a vr4 is not the car to be speed happy in.
but like i said, of course its up to you

A 2G eclipse GSX and $500 cash to get you an MBC, a boost guage, a K$N FIPK, and IC piping and a BOV. Thats a great starter car thats fast, good looking, easy to tune and cheap to get. A VR-4 is a beastie, but as a starter car, I would not recommend it to anyone. IMO.
