need and egr

help please i need an egr valve for a 93 dohc 4wd trooper ls.....the dealer wants an arm and a leg and none of the local parts guys can get it or even have a part number....on top of that the salvage yards wont sell it without the motor......please help ....im in houston

Have you tried cleaning your present one? That seems to work for most people.

You dont hear of many EGR issues with pre 1998 3.2L troopers. It *might* wind up being an OEM only part. Try searching online for one.

i tried to clean it allready with no luck and i guess it is oem through the internet the best price i found was 166 really high for egr valves same as dealer

P-we how many of the salvage places did you check from my link? I find it hard to believe none of them would sell you the valve. Did you contact St. Charles or JLemond also from the link? If not then you missed the lowest OEM price. Kermit, an EGR valve is an exhaust gas recirculating valve. Almost all cars now have them. If you are curious do a Google and get plenty of explanations including charts and diagrams.

that egr valve is the one that the parts store tried to sell me also it is the wrong one mine has two vac lines and a large 7/8 i think coming from the header....also i havent contacted anybody from the other link but will shortly
