2000 GTP Windows Dropped

Both my driver and passenger power windows stopped working. You can grab them and freely move them up and down by hand. In fact, I had to tape them to keep them up. Seems the motors are running when buttons are pushed. Any ideas on this?

I'd heard the windows themselves had clips that break which could require replacing the windows as the clips come installed on them?

Any help would be great. Thanks in advance!

The bolts that hold the clips/windows on can vibrate loose. When my driver's side window started acting up I removed the door panel and discovered that one of the bolts had fallen out. It was sitting at the bottom of the door.

remove the door panel and check the regulator as well as the motor itself. The window connects to the regulator via two bolts at the bottom of the window. make sure that the wire is not frayed binding up the whole unit. i had to replace my drivers side in my 98 after that happened. $120 in parts, 30 minutes in the driveway. did both sides quit working at the same time? if your drivers side door switch panel came unhooked neither door conrols will work. make sure both are pluged in.
