Is it bad for me to shift the automatic like a stick? what I mean is I found that I get a little more power and accellerate faster when I start from L and take it to redline and then release the gas shift into 2 and then the auto takes it to 3 automaticaly to redline then I shift into D I just wanted to know if that is bad for the car or is ther any side effects like I burn more fuel or what?

i also do the same thing, but only when im racing. i wouldent do it all the time it may wear things down if you were to do it everytime you shifted but it should be fine. and also you dont have to get off the gas when you shift it, since its auto you can keep on the gas and shift as you please.

Ya what he said is true ^
If you do that on a daily basis you will surely wear out your tranny.

theres no reason to do that in a G. the automatics shift at the best points anyways, so ur prolly losing power by doing it yourself. jus leave it in D and mash the gas pedal.

not tru, the G WILL NOT shift on its own up to 7000rpms it will shift at 6 or mabie 6 1/2. and the sr20de will make power till 7000rpms.

not in every gear though. jus flip on the power little switch thingy and nail the gas. i guarantee if u take two Gs and race em, on shiftin one not they will be exactly the same. there was a discussion on this a while back.

I just turn off the over drive until I hit 65mph and then I turn it back on. I dont want to mess up my tranie and I have found that just doing this gives me the best results.

okay this is how to do it: 1)rev in neutral a couple times for show 2) click off the overdive 3) push the a/t button to power (even though it does it itself...it just feels cool like I'm arming "super pursuit mode") 4) shift to 2 drive and floor it close to red 3)push up to 1 drive close to red then to regular D 4) then push the overdrive back on and last but not least flash your hazards as you watch though your broadway mirror the Geo metro w/ tacky grafix disapear. haha
