need help: exhaust warning light???

Wondering if any of you can please help me, I have a prelude with the H22B vtec engine, have an after market exhaust system fitted. Problem is the exhaust warning light on the dash lights up as soon as you turn the ignition on? Any help would be much appreciated

exhaust warning light? i'm not familiar with preludes But I have never heard of such a thing on any car. What exactly does it warn against? exhaust leakage? Dirty exhaust gases?

Not 100% sure, have been told has something to do with the exhaust. The light looks like a shape of the cat with 3 wavy lines above it, it lights up red. Have tried resetting the computer by disconnecting the battery but light still comes on once ignition is on. Any suggestions?

what year is your prelude? sounds like your cat isnt working right. make sure all the O2 sensors are working.

My lude is a 93, how do I check to see if the O2 sensor is working properly?
