96' gs engone swap

hey im new to theese forums im wondering if anyone can help, i own a 96' eclipse non-turbo gs recently my pistons crapped out due to a cold start in -36.. anyways my mechanic says il need a new motor and that a re-build is too costly i want to know how hard it would be to get a stock turbo engine of the same year and swap it? is this feasable at all or is my car just done?

If a rebuild is too costly then swapping a 420a for a 4g63t is definately way too much money. The engines are completely different. But you should have searched this question gets asked at least once a week.

let me know how your gs turns out, im deciding on turboing my 420a or going 4g63
