I need HELP!
does anyone know of a problem with the door locks on the 03. when i unlock them they immediately lock back, whether i use the remote or do it on the button on the door. i think it needs to be reprogrammed, but it might be a short in the electrical.
Any help or ideas would be appreciated!

i have a similar problem with my spyder, except that when i try and lock it, it unlocks on the driver side only and refuses to lock. The problem with mine is a short in the wiring, where my lock wire is grounding somewhere. Temporarily i sliced the wire so i can lock the car. Chances are you have a short somewhere, it shouldn't be a hard fix, it will just be hard to find.

on the newer eclipses there is a dumbass guard where if you leave the key in the ignition you can't lock them in the car. next time your in your car. turn it off, hit the power lock button and try to close them in. the locks will not remain locked, they will spring back unlocked. maybe in your 03 it thinks your key is still in the ignition?
***i just reread your thread, yours will not unlock. thought it was the other way around at first. probably a short. good luck.

that would suck!! just old-school it and put the key in the lock to undo it, or an automatic door popper would work

it does suck! but using the key actually does not work. I have to use the remote and pull the handle at just the right moment to get it open, usually takes 3-5 tries.
Thanks for the input, it probably is a short.

Is your car a spyder or coupe? If its a coupe, does it have a sun roof? Do you see where Im going with this?

It's almost definitely a short(but i can't be 100% sure). What's possibly happening is your power wire for your door locks is grounding somewhere on the car, or another wire, and the result is the equivalent of someone holding the lock button down.

this thread is almost 4 months old, also. No intentions on being an asshole or anything, but lets let this thread R.I.P.
