No start, with loud bang

Ok so i stalled out and it will not start back up. When i crank it for alittle while it makes a loud pop from the right rear around the fuel pump/gas tank area. I do hear bolth my fuel pumps charge, So any suggestions on what it might be?

Are you sure it wasnt a back fire?

And you have 2 fuel pumps?


Sounds like the timing is off, I'd check that first. Then check for spark, fuel, and compression!

i remember in my 1g when the belt went, i went to start it up before i knew the belt just broke and i spun a rod....made a big bang noise

Turning the motor over with a broken belt will not "spin a rod".

You might bend some valves or crack a piston but not "spin a rod".

Yup it sure was a back fire, must of echoed around the gas tank. The timing belt came loose and skiped a tooth or some thing...i was hopeing that it was just frozen fuel lines but no luck with that.
