Help, please? Piston Problems?

Hello, everybody. I've already searched through 1500 or so posts trying to find a problem similar to mine, but so far I haven't found it. Here's my story. I have a 97 cavalier with a 2.2L ohv engine with 117,000 miles or so. It would overheat if I got stuck in traffic, so I would add water to my coolant reservoir to fill it. Two weeks ago, it finally gave up on me. It overheated and stalled out at a red light. I waited for the green light then started it and drove onto the highway to head home. Well, it only made it onto the highway and over a bridge, then I lost acceleration and I knew it had stalled out again. A "Road Ranger" stopped and told me to add 2 quarts of oil and some water then try to start it again....I added them and waited an hour and a half for it to cool, but it still wouldn't start, and water started spraying out of the weep hole on the top of the water pump, so he told me it was bad. I got a tow truck to tow it home, and noticed a small oil puddle on the ground under the car. My brother replaced my water pump and when I tried to start it there was a little bit of water dripping out of a spot at the right front corner of the engine block where it meets the head. Then a "mechanic" friend told us the head gasket was blown. Well we spent a loong overnight disassembling the engine to get down to the head gasket and replace it. Once we pulled the cylinder head off, I could see that the top of the piston on the right had a crack in it from about an inch in to the outer edge of it. Also, the left piston had what looked like corrosion or burnt oil covering the entire surface. Needless to say, when we reassembled it, it still wouldn't start. Any help on how to fix this problem? Or any ideas on how much it'll cost to get fixed?? Or should I just get a rebuilt engine installed instead?? Which would be easiest/quickest/ cheapest? Help, please..Thanks in advance.

Huh?? I don't see anything there to help me?

You will need to get a long block (rebuilt engine block) and install it. This is cheaper but you will need to switch over you accessories-alt,water pump,etc.. from your existing motor. Good Luck.
