U.S. Lancer? Civic?

hey i wa sjust wondering what some of your opinions were, im getting a car soon and havent really decided what i want, ive been looking at the lancer oz and the civic ex's or si's because they seem to be in my price range. What ones do you think i should get and which is a better and faster car? And also where and how much is that new lancer gonna be? the one i saw posted in another thread that has a turbo charger body kir and sparco seats in it? ok get back to me, thanks

Get a nice black Lancer... I saw one today and it was so slick.!! they are so much sharper than a Honda !

the oz are some hot machine .i have one and bro and best friend .we eat up those civic's up all the time .the civc has less stock hp to the wheel's then the lancer .and the lancer has way more tourqe pump at 130lbs@4500 rpm.111.8 whp sstock compare to the 104.6 civic ex.they have many aftermarket parts too like turbo's and super chagers .intakes and headers etc.if you want info just reply with what you want.

BAHAHAHA.....If your looking in that price range you might be inclined to wait on the new dodge neon......Its gunna be quick and workable..No its not an import but who cares...civics are the biggest joke if used in the same sentence as SPEED or FAST or PERFORMANCE..

No way, go with a nice Civic Ex. If you don't mind a hatch (I think they look like ass) then go with the Si. Actually, if you want a really good car and aren't gonna go over 20k, why not get an RSX base model? That'll handle a Lancer OZ fairly well. Just my .02

yo the civcs suck a$$ i eat them up all over jersey and philly and all i got is cold air intake, header, magnaflow catback exhast ,spark plug wires, custom pulleys.i kill two si's out of the four i races and the ex's have no chance at all .go with the lancer oz

Wouldnt all those mods push the price to over 20K?

wait wait. what year of the si dont get the old hatch back cause there gay and coupe si is sweet and the new ones look pretty cool with the shifting on the dash almost. but Lancer's are the best car i would say go with the best Lancer thats in the U.S. right now cause the insurance for the SI is really fuckin high

well, for the price of an si or lancer oz u can get an impreza rs and smoke both of them... 165hp and 167 ft lbs torque stock, plus awd.

i dont exactly agree on this idea on a 2.5rs beating an SI...., the SI is lighter and has about the same power, it also has ivtec while the 2.5rs has AWD, so off the line, the rs will win but the SI will catch up. But i still think, for the money, your getting a better deal with the OZ, which has a fast grwoing after market which has been pretty generous as far as pricing goes. with the money you pay for the 2.5rs or SI, you could put that into the OZ and have the same power if not more, and a lighter car with a couple thousand to spare.

the fastest recorded time for a stock 2.5rs is 15.22, does anyone know the times for the new si and lancer oz? i know the old si was 15.7, it may be lighter than the rs but that awd gets u a lead off the line real quick and it has loads more torque so that keeps it ahead, but i dunno bout the new si.

the 2.5rs probably has the biggest aftermarket of all 3, the si is a totally new engine for the new body, although it will be really quick developing aftermarket, and the oz is a new car too but i dont know about its aftermarket, the rs may be a new body style, put parts from the old rs will fit it, so it has been developing since 95.

the biggest problem the civic and oz have is theyre fwd, which sucks for just about any performance situation, fwd is for commuter cars, rwd is for performance, awd is a compromise, and for traction. there are some exceptions, but fwd is really more of a hinderance than anything. when the lancer evo comes out here, that will bo one awesome car, but to me the oz edition is nothing more than a dressed up mirage.

its just the name, "oz RALLY" that pisses me off about it. they give us a 130hp front wheel drive car, slap a few "rally" emblems and special edition wheels on it, then try to tell us its a "$41000 car that thinks its a $14000 car" cmon mitsubishi do u really think youre fooling anyone? give us the real evo, or stop pretending.

Get the lancer oz. Everyone has a civic in the world. get a lancer and be original. No one has them really in my area, but everyone has a fixed up civic and they get on my nerves. Some one told me the civics only have 115 hp and the lancer has 120 hp.:flipa:

There is not question about this one, use should really get the Lancer .....Civics suck and Lancers are way better looking and you can do alot more to them .....:eshooter:

yeah youre right civics suck, BUT if u look at these stats:

2002 lancer oz rally---8.8 0-60---16.6 1/4 mile.
2002 civic ex---8.7 0-60---16.7 1/4 mile.

then youll realize they really not any slower than the lancer oz. thats also comparing the civic ex, not the top of the line si. and i dont know why u say u can do more to the lancer oz, there are way more parts available for civics, and there always will be, because every rice boy wants one.

as for the lancers being better looking... looks are only an opinion.

i odn't no what i'd go for depends. Civic has more aftermarket. But i think u should get a ser spec v. It can beat rsx civics and lancers.

:sun: Tha 99-2000 Si's rape. I'm getting a lancer myself, but seriously tho, those civics kick ass. It'd definitely take a lancer that has a stock engine unless if it wuz turbo.

HA, its kinda funny how you guys compare buying a Lancer OZ, or a civic SI, OMG that is the funniest shit i have heard in a long time, cause if you want performance for less, get a 91/92 Galant Vr-4 the car which lead to the creation of the Lancer, so in my opinion wait for the Lancer EVO VII, or get a 91/92 Galant Vr-4, dont waste your money on a honda that will take to much money, just to get it in the 13's
